what is MSP ?? Why the farmers of north and north western part of India are protesting?
MSP (minimum support price) are set by the government for certain agriculture specially RABI crops (Rabi crops are those crops which are sown in winter from October to December and are harvested in summer from April to June.
ex: wheat, barley,peas,gram
Areas: north and northwestern part of India - Punjab,haryana.
that is the main reason why specially the farmers of Punjab
and Haryana are protesting).
WHY??
* They are demanding that government should declare minimum support price that are at least 50% more than the costs farmers to produce crops.
*They are also demanding that the government should waive all debt from the farmers. data showing over 50% of farmers are in debt, the reason of suicide.
